What is it

An creative and unique approach that uses LEGO to promote communication, social and interaction skills among children, young people and adults with learning disabilities, Autism and learning difficulties.

 

LEGO Therapy sessions can be adapted by the Therapist to provide an individualized programme to meet the needs of the user.

 

Why is it beneficial

LEGO therapy is a fun and engaging therapy that benefits the individual in a number way including, but not limited to:

  • Improves social and interaction skills: Great for those who find group situations difficult such as Autism, Learning Disabilities, Learning Difficulties, Asperger’s Syndrome, etc
  • Promotes communication: Great for those who struggle to make their needs met such as Autism, those who are non-verbal, selective mute, etc
  • Increases concentration and focus: Great for ADHD, ADD and those with short attention spans
  • Collaborative problem-solving: Great for those with learning disabilities, cognitive impairments, acquired brain injury, etc
  • Promotes turn-taking: Great for those with Autism, ADHD, ADD, etc and those who don’t like to share
  • Develops fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination: Great for those with dyspraxia, developmental delay, developmental coordination disorder, etc
  • It is FUN!!! Great for everyone!

 

What we offer

  • ATA Care currently provides 1:1 and 2:1 sessions with qualified LEGO Therapists to schools, academies, voluntary organisations and individuals
  • Price: £35 per hour, per therapist
  • Location: South-East London
  • Venue: The LEGO Therapist will travel to you
  • Personal Budgets: Personal budgets or EHC plan funds can be used.
